HI everyone - a quick update. they got the bone biopsy back from the decubitus ulcer and it has something called VRE which is an antibiotic resistant strain of bacteria. As with most things at this point it is an iatrogenic thing, i.e. things picked up fro being on too many antibiotics and from just plain being in the hospital too long. Also please pray that Dustin's spirit will sustain him as it always seems like there is no progress. He is really wanting to do some things for himself and at this point he hasn't been able to because of all the other things things keep interfering with rehab.
The doctors talked yesterday for about an hour and they will take the information to the chief doctor in Tampa. Hopefully they will make a quick decision and Dustin will be stable enough to move. He is so tired of Augusta and if nothing else a change of scenery (and especially seeing more of Nerina) will be good for him.
