Dustin has had a good day. God really does answer every prayer! He was able to sleep 8 hours and then had a few short naps this morning. He sat up in the chair for 4 hours and did great. The doctor came in and he actually asked her how she was doing. That is the Dustin we all know.
All labs, fever etc are good. Attitude is more positive and this afternoon he asked for the Bible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He listened to it and every once in awhile he would have a few other choice words to say. He finally asked me to take the IPOD off. NO problem and then about 15 minutes later he asked to listen to the "sermon" again.
Today, a disabled vet and his wife came to talk to me and that was very encouraging to have some of my questions answered. They were very positive and will offer much support for Dustin as he navigates the VA syste.
Short post - a 7000 project associate is taking me to a movie and dinner. It truly is the "body taking care of the body."'
All for now.
love you all

Rick and Mary Pat,
I stand by Dustin's ICU bed and lay hands on him in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth as you two did at Charlie’s ICU bed. GOD IS FAITHFUL AND GOD IS ABLE AND HAS NO SHADOW OF TURNING IN HIM!!!
I remember those wonderful ICU heated blankets!
And...you are 1000% accurate that the sorcerers “were trying to pacify me and sneak it in the back door." After Charlie’s spinal cord surgery, I spoke and wrote clearly to EVERY person involved that we did NOT want any psychiatric drugs. One day when the nurse was reading me his drug list (which I had them do every day and obviously more than one nurse was not thorough when doing so), she read off Lexapro and I yelped! Instantly researched and found they had given it to him 2-3 days, stopped it and were planning to start it again that day!
==We’d instructed none be given.
==He had no symptoms described by the Manufacturer to indicate use of the drug.
==The Manufacturer says those symptoms need to ‘persist for 2 weeks’; or need to ‘interfere with daily functioning’, or need to be ‘uncontrollable for 6 months’ and Charlie had been there 3 days.
==The Manufacturer clearly warns you CANNOT stop and start this drug.
But !!!! The Doc’s note said Charlie ‘didn’t seem very happy’ so he prescribed “a Happy Pill’.
This is not to indict anyone; this is simply to say that psychotropic drugs are as normal to most medical staff as antibiotics. So if it is not something you want, remain diligent at each stage of treatment.
This type of fight is not logical. It is clearly spiritual, so you two stay right where you are, with your ears and eyes glued to your Lord!
You’re doing great!
After 8 months of care-giving in ICU, Rehab and home, I could post for hours.......but I write tonight to simply say: KEEP STANDING!
Most every Doctor is a wonderful person who WANTS to help. Their job is to report what they know from their 5 senses. We thank them, and then we cut their report off and go by GOD’S REPORT! Phil 4 says to think on things of good report. God’s Word is Dustin’s good report!
Doctors give us facts. GOD gives us Truth!
I stand with you 101% for full and complete restoration of every cell in Dustin’s body, period, absolutely, and without compromise, in the Name of Jesus Christ, no matter what man’s report ever says or doesn’t say. Although Dustin can choose not to accept any portion of the deliverance and health and life that Christ bought for him, it is nonetheless his .... so he CAN live it out to God's glory!
KEEP STANDING!
We Win!
